Philosophy & methodology

My vision, my approach and my working method represent a New Generation of Canine Education based on communication, relationship and cooperation, all three being mutual between the dog and his human - DogManShip (Dog Man Relationship).

I have always considered that the dog is a sensitive being, social and intelligent who has developed learning skills. To ask him to adapt and integrate himself into our society ... the education, the leadership, the guidance and the tools used must be designed and developed to help the dog (and his human) to find his place in the group, in the family, in this human lifestyle while respecting the specific needs of each individual.

Respecting the basic, social, development and well-being needs of dogs is essential.

The methods I work with are therefore based on verbal and non-verbal communication, relationship, cooperation, teamwork, listening, respect, guidance, freedom of action ... all this by determining frames for the dog that he will have to respect and by offering him the power of choice in these same frames.

I use the natural qualities of the dog to emphasize and develop his skills : socialization, familiarization, habituation, interaction, exploration, observation, reading, senses, excitement (which must rather be channeled, avoid, limit and manage), the perception (Umwelt), experience, FUN ... just allow him to be a dog ... and therefore to be happy.

The Canine Education Dogmanship that I propose is an advanced, innovative and very caring approach. Many elements are common to Horsemanship Equestrian Education with which I have been working for many years and they have proven themselves by giving significant results whether with horses or dogs.

My approach is different and opposed to all the old methods that are irrelevant in my opinion, methods such as dressage, obedience, dominance and hierarchy : most canine "educators" work according to the traditional method which is an abuse of power : use of choke collar, electric collar, brainwashing, conditioning ... avoiding and without respecting the basic needs of the dog !

These uses are incorrect and dangerous : they are at the root of many behavioral problems and they have no place in our current world.
